Carnival Culinary Solutions is owned and operated by brothers Dean and Jean-Pierre Pigeon. They started in the food business working in the back of restaurants with their dad, who ran a food distribution company. In 1992, Dean loved the excitement of restaurants and creating meals and events for customers to enjoy so much, he opened a small deli and catering business called Dean’s Deli near Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The Deli produced long lines of loyal patrons who enjoyed gourmet sandwiches, traditional New Orleans dishes and delectable desserts. As business grew and the company began operating the deli section at Wagner’s Meat on Airline Drive, Jean-Pierre began working with Dean.
Dean and Jean-Pierre, passionate about food and obsessed with ensuring every customer leaves with a full stomach and a smile, quickly outgrew the deli. The requests for large party orders kept growing and Dean and Jean-Pierre formed Pigeon Caterers. In 1997, the catering company overshadowed the small deli, and the Pigeon brothers decided to devote all of their time to catering. Pigeon Caterers provides full service catering, intimate gatherings, corporate events customized to meet the clients’ needs. We successfully operate throughout the Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes for more than a decade. We’ve joined creative forces with the New Orleans Board of trade to create a truly unique venue in the heart of downtown New Orleans.
In 2001, Pigeon Caterers became the official food service provider to the New Orleans Saints offering a variety of delicious and nutritious meals. In 2006, the Pigeon brothers expanded their product line by purchasing the Best of Susan Gourmet Catering and the Gumbo Shop Catering. With the need to find new customers to try their unique delicious food, the brothers began seeking different opportunities that would allow them to grow outside of New Orleans. In 2007, Dean and Jean-Pierre purchased Carnival Culinary Solutions, a food manufacturing company.
Carnival Culinary Solutions started with producing seafood crab cakes and muffulettas. Customers enjoyed Carnival Culinary Solutions food and request came pouring in to expand the line. The Pigeon brothers opened a new USDA facility and now produces an entire line of appetizers, dips, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, as well as center of the plate entrees.
The Pigeon brothers started their company with the desire to provide the highest quality food to their customers and continue to find innovative ways to bring their New Orleans style foods to the heart of America.
